The Faeries (also called the Fey) were, until the rising of Atlantis, the dominant culture on the Shard of Faerie. They evolved from the Alfar and were split into 2 courts, the Seelie Court, who ruled during the daytime, and the Unseelie Court, who ruled at night. The two Courts were bound together by a complicated political structure know as the Dance. Trade amongs the Fey is conducted mostly in Favours.

Recently the Seelie and Unseelie Courts have been combined into a single court, known as the Court of Day and Night. This is ruled over by Queen Blue and Queen Jess. The two hive minds of the Seelie and Unseelie courts have also been combined into a single Hive Mind.
