There are those who say that the Gods of Faerie are nothing more than Monarchs who have gained great power. However, many of the Gods and Goddesses existed before the time of the Monarchs, and their power is older. If a Monarch has become the latest embodiment of that ancient power, that does not make them any less a God in the eyes of the Fey.
