Sergent Andrew Kane

Born in Salem, is the eldest of two sons of a distinguished carpenter and artisan. Growing up he spent most his time crafting wood, and tutored by his father, learnt the skills necessary to become a competent carpenter. Although, unlike his younger brother, he had not inherited his fathers natural ability.

Over time, and with the aid of his sons, Kane's fathers skills earnt him a reputation unsurpassed in all Salem. This growing fame attracted rich and influential customers, which in turn generated great wealth and inevitably interest from the Salem church who were investigating untruths spread by jealous competitors.

Late one night Kane's home was attacked by soldiers working for the church, he managed to escape with his mother although his father and brother were captured. Later, in the confusion of a fight with puirsuing soldiers, he lost contact with his mother. Alone, he jouneyed across Salem and eventually found a work as a cooper and cartwright for the UKA.

There he remained for many years, anonymous, until he drunkenly agreed to join the URKA infantry.
