Backing Up
The easiest way to make sure you have a backup of everything you have added to the wiki is to make sure you keep a copy of everything you upload, as you upload it. You should also consider taking a backup of any document you edit or alter, so that your changes will not be lost. Probably the easiest way to do this is to simply copy and paste the document into a text editor and save a copy on your hard drive.
It is also possible to take backups of the whole of Shards Schtuff at the click of a button. The webmaster will take periodic backups, when she remembers, but anyone can take a backup. This is your wiki, so if you've added lots of stuff, and you don't want to see it lost in the case of vandalism or some sort of computer failure (which does happen - you have been warned), you should seriously consider taking a backup occasionally.
To do this, click on "This Space" under "Manage" in the menu bar on the left. Then click on "Download a backup". Couldn't be easier!
Restoring Data
Made a change and want to change it back? Or fix something that someone else screwed up? Here's how.
The easiest way to restore a single page is to use the drop-down list at the bottom of the page to view its history. Pick the version you want to revert to, then click on "revert" (bottom right hand corner). Hey presto!
Please be aware, however, that this will not work if someone has actually deleted your document, and emptied it from the trash folder. To protect against this you should make sure you have a backup of anything you have added to Shards Schtuff. See above for information on how to back up.
If a document has been changed in a way that you do not approve of it may have been the victim of a disagreement or vandalism. See the Troubleshooting section for information on how to deal with both of these issues.
