Brother Abbot McUen was born to McUen parents on Faerie. Unfortunately Abbot's mother died in Childbirth and he was raised by his Father Becks McUen. At the age of 7 Abbot and Becks were walking to a clan gathering through thick forest. From the undergrowth burst an insane werewolf, sacrificing himself for his son Becks engaged the beast while Abbot fled.

Whilst participating in the destruction of this threat Abbot's sanity was shattered. Worse was to come when he was somehow exposed to a potent source of tainted power. It twisted his perceptions and his magic and created a monster that only the swift intervention of his friends and colleagues prevented being unleashed upon the shards.
Since then Abbot has avoided the monastery knowing that they would see what happened and confine him to cloisters, or worse, grant him peace through merciful euthanasia. His friend
Dr Jessica Goodfellow is set upon curing him and if anyone can, it is her...
