The truth now revealed, Kageichi was a conditioned killing machine from a young age. Taken as a child into the secretive Shadow School he was trained to be a ninja. He excelled at his given vocation and rose high enough in the ranks to challenge his master for position of head of the school. He won.

Alongside co-leader of the school, Kazuya, the two sought out the patronage of a mighty Thunders clan in order to finance and house their operations. They were given such by the newly appointed daimyo of the Clan Takeda, Lo-Pan. The nature of the deal between them was simple, Lo-Pan had great power in the magical path of Blood and Shadow where Kageichi held great knowledge but no magical talent himself. Working together Kageichi and Lo-Pan imbued a great many of the shadow school with either blood or shadow kami, placing one of each within Kageichi.

Using his cover as Major Domo within the clan, Kageichi was able to accompany Lo-Pan out into the lands of the gaijin where the ambitions of Lo-Pan combined with his own began to culminate faster and faster within the mere space of a year to the point where both men had gathered a great amount of powers and abilities with the intention of going for greater and greater prizes the more they found success.

When Kageichi faced the being known as Paradox however, things changed. His mind was ripped apart but put back together by Jessica Goodfellow. Upon doing this she learned all of his secrets, his true identity and his true intentions. It was then that she embarked upon a course to change Kageichi enough that he awaken the long forgotten parts of himself that were human.

Not long before this Lo-Pan had granted Kageichi the right to establish his own house using his own family name. He was also given the right to marry and for political reasons in seeking an alliance with the powerful rebel Monarch Poseidonis, Kageichi and Lo-Pan made a deal with the great sea god to marry one of his daughters. Of course only one remained; Ilona.

After the defeat of Amatsu, Kageichi approached the famous samurai Shichiroji who held the Tiger of Lies and Deception and petitioned him to become the host of Smoke in his stead. The agreement was made. Kageichi and Smoke joined forces. He was now a Tiger.

Kageichi sought finally to enact his long intended plan of forging his own Court outside of his homelands. This court would exist on the lands formerly known as the Empire of the Jade Dragon. He dreamt of ruling the court from the shadows and gaining power and prestige, ensuring his name would be remembered as well as forming his own powerful lineage formed from the bloodline of Monarchs mingled with his own.

Ragnarok and the Turning of the Wheel came about.

The side of him that was human became more and more prominent and none more so obvious than in his infatuation with Ilona. Forsaking his former life as a walker of the shadows, Kageichi confessed his love to Ilona and contrary to his ninja-instilled honour code of survival, he continually put himself in harm's way to try and protect her. Though competing with Indech ap Domnu for Ilona's affections he went so far as to help rescue Indech from the maw of the Midgard Serpent Jormungand, using the strength of his own will and chi to hold the creature's jaws open while others freed him.

Finally, when Ilona was being cut down by Ostrilliach ap Indech ap Domnu, Kageichi intervened and stole her away to safety, only to have her abducted by his former Shadow School. In a final battle with co-head Kazuya, Kageichi prevailed and slew his former comrade. Ilona was finally safe, but Kageichi was now forsaken by his shadow brethren. All his assets and any who were loyal to him were destroyed.

His former life now lost to him, his dealing with the Triads having marked him deeply and his ambitions all torn down, Kageichi now makes a new life for himself and his beloved Ilona where he still seeks to create his new court, only this time without his sole leadership and with the intention of creating a new, safe home for himself, Ilona and any who will help him build it.
