The monarch Poseidon emerges to speak with those gathered for the Silver Sabre Society's Ball.

He states that is he who must name the High Mage of Faerie and declares his favoured candidate to be Princess Holie.

Queen Jess returns to her people, she is accompanied by a mysterious figure who identifies himself as the Storyteller and brings important news to the people of Faerie about the High Mage.

Admiral Steiner is finally defeated although not without considerable loss of life.
