Tribe of Rat

The Tribe of Rat is a group of nomadic families and rats, bound together in a tribal structure, with shared rituals and history. Although outsiders might view the rats which travel with them as pets, to the members of the Tribe they are friends and family. They specialise in scavenging from other people’s discards and scrap, as well as stealing things of interest. For sustenance they rely on hunter gathering rather than farming, although they sometimes travel with animals for meat and milk.
They are a lively people with a vast oral tradition of songs and stories, led by women. Within their Tribe only women are allowed to speak to the Spirits, and only men are allowed to raise the children. They often travel with others, allowing them to join in the day to day life of the Tribe. It is unknown, however, for any non-Tribe member to ever have become one of the Tribe.
