Enrolled into the most notable schools and universities with the aim of becoming a scholar or scientist his disruptive behaviour and constant flights of fancy eventually lead to his expulsion and he was enrolled in the King Guard. After one incident where Aaron saved to life of a visiting dignitary, the King posted Aaron to the barracks at Ashfield. It was here that he took his place amongst the Kings Own 2nd Dragoons, under the command of Lt. Giles Garrett. Some snubbed Aaron's entry to the Dragoons, calling him a King's boy, and a Royal snuffer.

The Battle of the Ley saw the Brettonian Armies wipe out many of the Tolkorian forces. At the same time, in a field to the south of the battle, the King was holding a banquet to welcome new friends and old. During the course of this banquet, the King's mortal enemy, Evenny, showed his form and threatened to destroy not only the King, but also all of Tolkori. With an act of supreme sacrifice, the King grappled with Evenny and tumbled with him through a portal. The two of them vanished and the portal closed. It was thought that the King was lost forever.

Being the most experienced and worldly wise, Garrett's squad were commissioned by the new King to set out and discover more of the lands around. Many festivals and events were being held and it was their duty to attend on behalf of the King and see what there was to see. Then Tolkori suffered its gravest day yet. The Brettonian Armies marched through the land, ignoring the treaties and warnings levied by the Heralds Guild, and laid waste to many farms and villages. This act, and the inability of the Heralds to stop them started a chain of events that saw the organisation fall, and war and conquest once again took the land of Kastrouffee.

Disheartened and delirious from battle, Garrett's squad, accompanied by a handful of other, set out to search for the King. They believed in the prophecy and they had firm conviction in their ability to find him. For years they searched all over Kastrouffee and beyond, but to no avail. Aaron, one of the most stalwart believers in their quest, began to feel disheartened with the actions of the other Dragoons, and eventually left with Hawklin to travel back to Tolkori in the hope that they may have learned something more. They both new the risks involved in going back, as those Dragoons that left were hailed as traitors to the crown and were all on a charge of treason. Hawklin was suffering terrible from the condition of the mind, and Aaron though best for him to go to Tsieburn and rest with the monks until he was more corpus-mentis.

Upon arriving at Dunport, the principal dock in Tolkori, Aaron was unsettled and surprised to see the Brettonian insignia on the uniform of the guards. Erring on the side of caution, he discarded his blues and donned the garbs of a peasant. Smuggled into the town with the help of the captain and some gold, he headed straight for the University, hoping it was still standing. Indeed it was, and once inside he sought about finding the attention of Straud le Fey, a man he knew would not have been swayed by the attentions of the Brettonians. And find him he did, and over the next few days Straud explained how Tolkori was no longer as it was. After the sacking of Tolkori, the final enforcement of the Heralds was to ensure that Brettonia paid reparations to Tolkori. Not only did they pay, but they also sent men to help with the rebuilding. With the men came soldiers, both for the protection of the Brettonian men from rebel Tolkorians, and also to help train new recruits in the Tolkorian army. And with the soldiers came diplomats, scientists, architects and scholars. Before long, there were more Brettonians that Tolkorians, all 'helping' to rebuild the country.

So Brettonia finally took control of Tolkori through subtle outnumbering and cunning politics, but the University stayed independent. Or so the cover story went. Aaron soon found out that the University housed many who were still loyal to the first King, and all believed that he would return to save Tolkori once more. He also found out that only a few months prior to his arrival, a bottle was found washed up on the shore. The contents seemed obscure at the time, but once the university had examined them, a fresh wave of excitement and belief washed over the rebellion. The bottle contained a grid, and on the grid was the symbol of Hazzan. Test proved this to be authentic, although what it was a grid for was still a mystery. Leaving this artefact with the learned men in the University, Aaron would lead rebel troops on blitzes of Brettonian supply lines, intercepting information and reclaiming food and money so as the further fund the troops. Some new men and women joined the rebellion, but it was known that many were happy under Brettonian rule. They fed them, trade was good and the country was reasonably protected from outside forces.

This further fuelled Aaron in his desire to find the King, for it was only with the return of Hazzan that the people would see how they had been duped. Although he was promoted to General of the Rebel army, Aaron spent more and more time in the presence of Straud. 16 months later, the scholars believed that they had successfully found the origin of the grid. An area as yet unexplored, that lay through the void. Although clearly excited over this, none were prepared to undertake the journey. So it was decided that a rat, being the symbol of the King, would be sent, with one of the magical advisors seeing through it's eyes. The journey seemed successful, and upon the rats return, tests indicated that it had absorbed very similar essences as those detected upon the grid. After two years and a few more 'test expeditions', the seeing advisor has reason to believe that Dragoons had also passed through place.

At this point Aaron felt that the time had come for a man to travel. Against the wishes of the advisors he undertook to travel alone. With a firm conviction that he would find both the Dragoons and the King, and blessed with a better insight into the world, and the essence that surrounds it, he took passage on a private boat and set out towards the place they have called 'The Gate'. Since arriving in the Shards, Aaron has rejoined the Dragoons and was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer. Fighting against the various forces within the Shard worlds, he has recently learnt a great deal more about the integral workings of a much bigger picture, and with the location of a map, feels that they are much closer to finding the King than ever before.
