- Advice for LARPers - Articles offering unsolcicited but useful advice on everything from costume to running your own event.
- Costume Guild UK - Promote the advancement of costume design and construction, and provide a public forum for the discussion of costume and related subjects.
- DIY guide to LRP - Brilliant guide to making costumes, weapons and armour at basic levels. All simply illustrated and well explained. Perfect for beginners to LRP and to costume making. Visit here, you won't regret it.
- Sir Clisto's Tome - How to on a wide variety of historical costumes from across the world, including how to wrap a kilt, tie a turban, and many other things.

- Call To Arms - An indispensable publication of over 1300 contacts for re-enactment societies, associations, suppliers, craftsmen and demonstrators, with events, news and articles of interest.
- The LARPer - Published by The LARPA.
Stage Fighting and Combat
- Academy of the Sword - Sadly based in the USA, so attending their classes is out unless you don't mind travelling! However, they do have books on theatrical and stage fighting.
- British Acadamy of Dramatic Combat - Offer short courses around the UK as well as books on stage fighting techniques.
- British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat - Offer courses and workshops for beginners and experienced actors alike.
- Company of Maisters of the Science of Defence - The website for English martial arts. Information about and tuition in a variety of English forms of fighting.
- Taranis Fighting Arts - Training in a wide range of European martial arts, including, but by no means limited to, hand-and-a-half sword, paired swords, rapier, dagger, quarterstaff, etc. Classes in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Communities
- LARPA - The Live Action Roleplayers Association promotes and encourages live roleplaying as a form of art, education, and entertainment to the public by facilitating the free exchange of ideas in the live roleplaying community, providing education and educational resources, organizing forums, and other appropriate activities. Based in the US, but have international resources.
- Live Roleplay UK - A gaming resource for the UK that aims to deliver to the needs of the full spectrum of the hobby as well as keeping an ever watchful AI on future developments.
- Pagga - Please note that Pagga is now closed, though the fora are still available as archives.
- Rule 7 - Live roleplaying community. Provides message boards for any LRP campaign, as well as a forum for general chat.

- Kill The Dog - Not technically a site to do with Shards, but run by LT, a regular Shards player who did all the graphics for this site.
- The Artworks - Again, not to do with Shards but run by Mark and Amanda, regular Shards players who did the artwork for this site. (This site is in the process of moving)
- Anne Stokes - Stunning fantasy artwork by Anne Stokes, which have been used by Wizards of the Coast, Mongoose publishing, Dragon magazine, Sabertooth Games, AEG, Spiral and others
- Eldephia - A resource site for roleplayers UK with links to a number of historical and mythological sites. Great for anyone trying to research or write background material.
- LARP Land - Links to almost everything about LRP and related things, such as interactive theatre.
- LARP Links - Links to all sorts of LRP related stuff, including costume, clothing, camping equipment, armour, LARP groups, etc.
- Live Action Roleplay - A Beginners Guide - Basic introduction to the hobby, includes information on costume and safety. This is not a shameless plug at all ;).
- Oriental Costumes: Their Designs and Colors - including colour pictures of costumes from different countries
- Napoleonic Guide - Everything you could possibly want to know about the Napoleonic era, from history, biographies and maps to artwork and songs. A fantastic site!
- Sir Clisto's Tome - Information about a huge range of historical things, including myths and ledgends, martial arts, armour, weapons, religion, architecture, costumes, cartography (ooh er!), law, science, and almost anything else you can think of!
- Swashbucklers - Information about famous Swashbucklers such as Robin Hood and Wiliam Tell, with links to various LRP/re-enactment/historical sites.
- What Cavern? - A variety of articles relating to RPGs and LRP, including useful first aid advice.
